Breakfast of Champions

Featuring Mike Vrabel

Breakfast of Champions to Benefit the Men’s Program

Cumberland Heights is excited to host the 2024 Breakfast of Champions on Friday, November 22, featuring former Tennessee Titans coach, Mike Vrabel, as keynote speaker. Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the Men’s Program at Cumberland Heights.

The mission of Cumberland Heights is to transform lives, giving hope and healing to those affected by drug and alcohol addiction.

The Men’s Program is designed to guide men from feelings of pain and isolation that come with addiction to a place of connection and well-being. Our experienced staff create an individual plan for each patient, which includes comprehensive education on the disease of addiction, an understanding of the obstacles to recovery through group and individual therapy, 12-Step programming, and family therapy. Our goal is to help those suffering turn the hard work of getting clean and sober into a lifetime of happiness and peace.

Cumberland Heights is grateful for all of our sponsors, patrons, and supporters that make this event possible. To learn how you can be a part of Breakfast of Champions, please contact Lee Ann Eaton, Development Coordinator, at leeann_eaton@cumberlandheights.org. Thank you!

Mike Vrabel

Mike Vrabel

As head coach of the Titans, Vrabel led the team to the playoffs three times. The Titans won back-to-back AFC South titles in 2020 and 2021, marking the first time the organization accomplished the feat since the Oilers won the first three AFL Eastern division titles from 1960 to 1962.

Vrabel received one of the NFL’s highest honors when he was named the Associated Press NFL Coach of the Year after directing the Titans to a 12-5 regular-season record in 2021. The Titans won the AFC South, and they claimed the top seed in the AFC playoff field for the first time since 2008.

During his fourteen year NFL career, Vrabel played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs. He helped New England win three Super Bowl Championships with his superior defensive skills and his ability to help the offense convert on goal-line situations.  Vrabel was a defensive standout at Ohio State, appearing in every game over his four-year tenure, was a First Team All-American and earned two Big Ten Defensive Lineman of Year awards.

Jody Robert

2024 Duke Kennedy Award

The Duke Kennedy Award is given each year to a person who has made an exemplary impact in the local recovery community. This year, Cumberland Heights is pleased to present the Duke Kennedy Award to Jody Roberts of Nashville, Tennessee.

A native of Middle Tennessee, Jody attended Samford University, where he was a prominent member of the varsity football team and graduated with a degree in Business Management. Jody is a founding member of Ardent Development, where he oversees sales and marketing. Jody’s passion for his work is evident in his professional approach to planning and executing sales strategies and operations. Jody uses his vast experience

in Nashville residential real estate to help shape the overall design of the Ardent communities.

Jody joined the Cumberland Heights Board of Directors in 2011 and co-chaired the annual Concert for Cumberland Heights that same year. As a board member, Jody is a wonderful ambassador for Cumberland Heights. He is always willing to introduce new donors to our mission and share with the community how Cumberland Heights changes lives.

Jody’s enthusiasm for sports and recovery led him to serve as co-chair of the inaugural Breakfast of Champions in 2019. Jody chaired this event for the next four years, including 2020, when we pivoted to an online event, Paving the Road to Recovery.

According to fellow board member and sister, Leslie Dabrowiak, “Jody is so deserving of this honor. He has been incredibly involved over the years, chairing the concert, starting and chairing the Breakfast of Champions, and serving on the board and committees. I am so proud of him. Above all, I continue to be so inspired by his sobriety and his love for Cumberland Heights, the place that saved his life and got him on the right path.”

Longtime Cumberland Heights supporters, Joe and Linda Roberts, shared, “Congratulations on a well-deserved honor. We are so proud of Jody for his sobriety and involvement in Cumberland Heights.”

Cumberland Heights is grateful to Jody for all he has done to bring in new supporters, whether as donors or introducing them to Cumberland Heights’ lifesaving work through the Breakfast of Champions. Recently, Jody has made a tremendous impact on the Recovery in Community initiative by connecting prospective donors seeking high-impact philanthropic investments.

We are deeply grateful for Jody and his family for their support of recovery and Cumberland Heights.
