Adult Extended Care
Off-campus, gender specific homes, sober living arrangement to practice daily living skills, such as time management, financial management and negotiating with others in a peer community supported by trained staff.
Adult Men Extended Care
As an adult patient in the Men’s Extended Care Community, you will have the time to look at complicated issues, such as trauma, co-occurring psychiatric disorders, high stress occupations and other individual factors which can affect ongoing recovery. There is time to look at how these issues have interacted with active alcohol and drug use in the past and how they can be managed to avoid relapse in the future. We offer additional individual and group opportunities in the areas of spiritual direction, art therapy, music assisted therapy, equine assisted therapy and adventure based therapy to take you deeper into your healing process. EMDR, a specific form of trauma therapy, is also available as well as specific gender responsive groups for those issues best addressed among a single gender group.

In addition, the Extended Care Community offers the time to delve deeper into the principles and practices of a 12-Step based recovery lifestyle. By living in one of our off-campus gender specific homes, you get the chance to practice daily living skills, such as time management, financial management and negotiating with others in a peer community supported by trained staff. Integration into the 12-Step support system of the local community becomes a part of daily life as you attend local meetings, call and meet with a sponsor, and continue your work on the 12 Steps and principles.
In extended care you will return to our main campus on River Road daily to continue individual, group and expressive therapies giving you a sense of continuity and safety critical to early recovery. Many resources for ongoing recovery are explored, planned for and put into place as you and your family transition back to being together at home, including passes to allow you and your loved ones to have a “practice” experience before you leave the community. When you are ready to go home, you will have an individualized plan to continue your recovery journey.
