Alumni Care Community
Formally known as “Aftercare,” Alumni Care meetings are for Cumberland Heights alumni who want to stay connected to the CH community as part of their recovery program. This includes recent graduates, as well as those with months or years of recovery who can offer support.
Unlike group therapy which is facilitated by professionals, Alumni Care is led by peers. It is also not strictly a 12-step or self-help meeting as the topics and discussions are guided to the unique challenges of re-entry to home, work or school, and community following treatment.
Alumni Care aims to help more people achieve long-term recovery. We do this by reinforcing that recovery is more than just a connection to the treatment center. It involves reliance on a larger recovery community. Alumni Care also reinforces that structure in early recovery helps people make all of the life changes necessary to increase their chances of success.

The connection we have to the individuals and families who started Cumberland Heights and made it a reality in the 1960s is still strong more than 54 years later. We have staff who have served passionately here for 25 plus years, and alumni who still loyally attend our Alumni Care meetings decades after completing the program.
