A listening heart and an understanding mind includes humility. When we humble ourselves in our relationship with the god of our understanding, we are then able to seek out God’s wisdom. A listening heart and understanding mind makes room for God’s will to be known. It means making time for prayer and meditation so we can quiet the self long enough to hear God’s wisdom within us. It means quieting the self long enough to hear what other are saying which may lead us to hear God’s wisdom coming through others. A listening heart seeks not material gifts for ourselves, but gifts of character that will benefit others.
