Honoring International Overdose Awareness Day
Cumberland Heights is honoring International Overdose Awareness Day, the world’s largest annual campaign to end overdose, remember without stigma those who have died and acknowledge the grief of family and friends left behind. We asked a few of our employees what this day means to them. Sadly, according to the CDC, 93,000 Americans lost their lives to overdose in 2020. Nashville saw a 32% increase in fatal drug overdoses in 2020 compared to the year prior with 468 suspected drug overdose deaths in 2019 and 619 in 2020.
