Brent Alcaraz is a Primary Counselor in the Young Men’s Program at Cumberland Heights, where he has been part of the team for a combined three years. He first joined in 2021 as a Family Counselor before transitioning into his current role. After a brief period working at Vanderbilt Counseling Center, Brent returned to Cumberland Heights, drawn back by the meaningful work and sense of purpose.
Brent earned his degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Alabama. He previously worked at the Tuscaloosa County Diversion Program and completed his master’s internship with Bradford Health Services. Inspired by his own recovery journey, Brent is passionate about guiding young men toward lasting change—just as a counselor once did for him.
Brent is married with two children and three dogs. His hobbies include home improvement projects and building a home gym with his wife.
