With more than 20 years of experience working with adolescents and families, Dean Porterfield is a nationally recognized leader in adolescent behavioral health and substance use treatment. As Executive Director of ARCH Academy, a residential program for teen boys at Cumberland Heights, Dean oversees clinical operations, staff development, and community education.
Dean’s background includes leading an outdoor therapeutic program for adolescent males as well as serving on the board with the National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs (NATSAP). He also serves as an LPC clinical supervisor and a frequent speaker at local and national conferences on youth mental health and addiction.
Dean’s strengths-based, relationship-driven approach is at the heart of his work. He believes that authentic human connection is key to long-lasting change, especially for teens navigating recovery.
