Kayla Gilbert serves as the Primary Counselor for the River Road IOP at Cumberland Heights, a role she began in 2025 after completing a yearlong internship in the Women’s Program. Kayla holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Methodist University in North Carolina and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lipscomb University. Her passion for addiction treatment and recovery began during her undergraduate studies, where she worked with a mentor focused on underage binge drinking research, and deepened after experiencing the loss of friends to overdose.
Kayla is inspired daily by the opportunity to witness personal growth in others and finds fulfillment in the mutual learning that comes with each patient relationship. Outside of work, she’s a proud cat mom, a lover of all things gothic, horror, and fantasy.
