Dr. Susan Marcotte joined Cumberland Heights as a Research Associate in 2024, bringing a strong background in epidemiology and public health research. She holds a Ph.D. in Epidemiology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and has over eight years of experience in wearable physical activity monitoring and five years in maternal and child health research.
Susan’s passion for addiction research stems from both personal and professional experiences. Having a family member who struggles with addiction has been a humbling journey, reinforcing her dedication to understanding behavior change and the complexities of recovery. She finds fulfillment in conducting research that contributes to improving treatment and prevention efforts in addiction medicine.
Outside of work, Susan and her husband are excitedly expecting their first child. They also have a golden retriever named Remy, a miniature schnauzer named Tito, and a lively cat named Ace. In her free time, she enjoys exploring new restaurants and cafes, and managing an international grocery store in Clarksville, TN.
